- Cutting-edge RGBW technology redefines façade lighting
- Launch aligns with Eid Al Etihad celebrations
Emaar Properties has revealed a dazzling new lighting system for the Burj Khalifa, using advanced RGBW technology to reimagine its iconic façade. The upgraded lighting system will be unveiled on 1 December 2024 as part of the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations, leading up to the 15th anniversary of the world’s tallest building on 4 January 2025.
The RGBW lighting introduces a vibrant range of colours and dynamic effects, enhancing the tower’s visual appeal and establishing Dubai as a global leader in design innovation and creativity.
The transformation followed six months of meticulous testing to ensure flawless integration. The system replaces static lights with dynamic, addressable fixtures that allow for complex patterns and adaptable displays, seamlessly blending with the Burj Khalifa’s media screen while preserving its sleek aesthetic.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, stated: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
This upgrade sets a global precedent for integrating technology and artistry, inspiring future architectural lighting innovations around the world.
