French home services platform Wecasa has secured €18 million in a Series B funding round to accelerate its growth and strengthen its leadership in the European market. The funding, which was led by long-time investors Serena and blisce/, alongside new participant iXO Private Equity, will enable Wecasa to expand its operations in the UK and France, while entering new European markets.
Wecasa, which has been active in the UK since 2021, has seen a significant rise in demand for its at-home services, which include cleaning, beauty treatments, and massages. The company provides a user-friendly platform that connects customers with a network of over 10,000 independent service professionals. These professionals are offered the tools and support needed to grow their businesses, while delivering high-quality services to meet the evolving needs of modern households.
The latest investment comes at a time of increasing pressure on startups in a challenging economic climate. However, Wecasa has demonstrated its resilience with €60 million in business volume across its operations in France and the UK in 2024. The company achieved profitability in the first half of this year, a testament to its sustainable and controlled growth strategy.
Since its inception in 2016, Wecasa has been committed to maintaining a positive work culture, with no layoffs even during difficult periods. The company has hired over 50 new employees this year and plans to increase its workforce by another 50, bringing the total number of staff to 200 within 12 to 18 months. Additionally, Wecasa works with 10,000 independent partners, who collectively contribute the equivalent of 2,000 full-time positions.
The strong investor interest in this funding round underscores the quality of Wecasa’s business model, with the company receiving multiple offers before finalising the deal. Current and former employees who hold equity warrants also had the opportunity to exercise their options and benefit from capital gains.
Wecasa’s CEO and co-founder, Antoine Chatelain, expressed pride in the company’s performance, particularly during a period where fundraising has become more difficult for startups. He said, “The interest we’ve received demonstrates the quality and uniqueness of Wecasa’s model. We are especially proud to combine financial performance with a positive impact on our employees and independent partners.”
Olivier Martret, Partner at Serena, praised Wecasa’s achievements, noting the company’s 60% growth this year and its profitable position. He said, “Wecasa has achieved 60% growth this year while reaching profitability, consolidating its leadership position in a transforming sector.”
As part of its expansion strategy, Wecasa plans to increase its service offering, improve its platform for customers and professionals, and continue supporting independent contractors as they grow their businesses. The company aims to make home services more accessible and convenient for busy households across Europe, helping families manage their daily lives more efficiently.
