Hart Shoreditch Hotel in London is marking its fifth anniversary with a festive art installation and a mosaic workshop, blending creativity with community celebration this December. The hotel, known for its vibrant cultural offerings, is partnering with local artists to deliver these unique events.
‘Celebration’ Art Installation
From 4th December, guests and visitors will be greeted with a striking art installation titled Celebration, created by the hotel’s resident artist, James Daw. Drawing inspiration from the bold and playful Memphis Design Group of the 1980s, the installation features recycled and sustainable materials to reimagine traditional festive decor. Incorporating Hart Shoreditch’s connection to Dubai, Daw’s work adds a dynamic twist with stop-motion animations projected across the hotel’s digital screens, transforming the Hotel Lounge into an immersive space of colour and creativity.
Hands-On Festive Workshop
On 7th December, mosaic artist Natalie Kent will host a festive mosaic-making workshop at the hotel. The two-hour session, suitable for all skill levels, offers participants the chance to craft unique holiday decorations, from baubles to stars, using glittery tiles. The workshop includes a tutorial on grouting, ensuring attendees leave not only with handmade keepsakes but also a new skill. Tickets for the workshop are available on Eventbrite.
A Journey of Resilience and Growth
The events coincide with a milestone for Hart Shoreditch, which opened in December 2019. Despite facing significant challenges, including a temporary closure during the COVID-19 pandemic, the hotel has emerged stronger, achieving notable commercial success while staying true to its ethos of fostering community connections.
Reflecting on the anniversary, General Manager Lina Zakzeckyte remarked: “This occasion is not just a date on the calendar; it’s a celebration of our shared successes and the incredible growth of our brand. It’s about the loyal guests we’ve gained, the triumphs of our team, and the vibrant community we’ve built.”
Zakzeckyte credited the hotel’s dedicated staff for creating lasting guest experiences, making the hotel a community hub in East London. “This anniversary is a testament to all we’ve accomplished together, and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate it,” she added.
Community and Creativity at the Heart
Hart Shoreditch’s anniversary celebrations underline its commitment to fostering creativity and community. By hosting events that blend art, sustainability, and festive cheer, the hotel continues to leave a lasting mark on London’s cultural scene.
