Hollyland, a leader in professional wireless intercom solutions, has launched the Cosmo C2, an innovative product aimed at transforming multi-camera live streaming and electronic field production (EFP). The new device, unveiled on February 13, 2025, promises to address longstanding challenges in the industry, including excessive cabling, spatial constraints, and synchronization delays that typically arise with traditional intercom setups.
The Cosmo C2 stands out for its unique 2TX (transmitter) and 1RX (receiver) configuration, which allows two transmitters to send signals to a single receiver. This innovation reduces the need for excessive equipment and ensures superior synchronization across multiple camera feeds, overcoming common issues faced with standard 1TX and 1RX systems.
With a strong focus on performance, the Cosmo C2 offers impressive transmission range and low latency, making it ideal for high-quality live broadcasts. The system features a wireless transmission range of up to 3,000 feet (1,000 metres) in line-of-sight conditions, with a back-to-back transmission distance of over 980 feet (300 metres). This capability prevents transmission issues such as screen glitches or stuttering, offering a seamless viewing experience for both displays and live streams.
One of the key innovations of the Cosmo C2 is its proprietary HEVO2.0 technology, which effectively mitigates issues like interference from surrounding frequencies. The system automatically detects and switches to cleaner channels to ensure uninterrupted transmission. Additionally, the Cosmo C2 can convert low frame rate inputs to 60P, thanks to a new frame rate compensation algorithm, enhancing visual smoothness during broadcasts. For added reliability, it retains the last frame in the event of unexpected signal loss, preventing unsightly displays of manufacturer logos during commercial live streaming.
The Cosmo C2 simplifies workflows with its plug-and-play compatibility for NDI, UVC, and RTMP outputs. The inclusion of NDI support directly in the receiver allows for seamless local area network video streaming, eliminating the need for additional converters. Its RTMP functionality enables direct cloud streaming, removing the need for external devices. Meanwhile, UVC streaming via a Type-C port ensures a smooth connection without the need for a capture card.
Designed with versatility in mind, the Cosmo C2 supports both HDMI and SDI connections, catering to a wide range of broadcast equipment. The system also offers various input and output ports, including HDMI Input, SDI Input, and SDI Loopout on the transmitter, as well as multiple HDMI and SDI outputs on the receiver.
Power flexibility further enhances the Cosmo C2’s usability, with the transmitter supporting both DC power and NP-F batteries, while the receiver accommodates DC power and V-Mount batteries. This adaptability ensures reliable performance in diverse shooting conditions.
The Hollyland Cosmo C2 is now available for purchase through local distributors and the Hollyland Amazon store. The pricing for the different configurations is as follows:
