Luxury Swiss watchmaker Hublot has unveiled its latest creation, the Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic, a timepiece celebrating the record-breaking achievements of the tennis icon. In a launch event in Paris, Novak Djokovic, alongside Hublot CEO Julien Tornare, introduced the watch to a select audience of journalists and special guests.
The limited-edition piece pays tribute to Djokovic’s extraordinary career, which reached new heights this year with his 24th Grand Slam singles title and an Olympic gold medal. The achievement solidified Djokovic’s status as one of only five players to complete a Golden Slam.
The watch is constructed from materials close to Djokovic’s heart, including 25 HEAD tennis racquets and Lacoste polo shirts worn during his 2023 season. These items were transformed into a unique composite material that forms the watch case and bezel, highlighting Hublot’s commitment to sustainable innovation.
“This watch represents key moments from my 2023 season, a landmark year in my career,” said Djokovic. “It has been an incredible experience to collaborate with Hublot to create something that embodies my journey and mindset.”
To reflect Djokovic’s agility and precision, Hublot used advanced research and development to make the watch lightweight and durable. The case material incorporates recycled textiles and carbon fibres for a distinctive blue camo aesthetic. For the movement, Hublot replaced traditional brass components with aluminium, reducing weight by 27%. The timepiece is finished with a tempered Gorilla Glass face, further enhancing its featherlight feel.
The Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic comes with four interchangeable straps, including a Lacoste tennis wristband and other sports-inspired options. Attention to detail is evident in design features like a yellow second pusher, evoking a tennis ball, and Djokovic’s logo engraved on the glass and movement.
Only 100 pieces will be produced, housed in an eco-friendly oak watch box. Each box includes a signed Lacoste polo and tennis wristband, making it a collector’s item for fans and enthusiasts alike.
Julien Tornare, Hublot’s CEO, praised Djokovic as a symbol of perseverance and excellence. “Novak’s determination to redefine limits mirrors Hublot’s drive to push the boundaries of fine watchmaking,” he said.
Since joining the Hublot family in 2021, Djokovic has been a prominent ambassador for the brand, embodying its philosophy of innovation and uniqueness. Hublot, known for pioneering designs like the Big Bang and using materials such as titanium and ceramic, has once again demonstrated its dedication to creating timepieces that blend artistry and cutting-edge technology.
The Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic is now available online and at Hublot boutiques worldwide, offering a rare opportunity to own a piece of tennis history. Over 140 boutiques around the world share Hublot’s fervour and values, alongside the Hublot.com e-commerce site.
