Healthcare Holding Schweiz AG has completed the acquisition of Effectum CH-Rep AG, reinforcing its position in the medical technology sector. The move marks the separation of Swiss Authorised Representative (CH-REP) services from Effectum Medical AG.
Under Switzerland’s Medical Devices Ordinance (MedDO SR 812.213), which came into force on 26 May 2021, medical device manufacturers without a Swiss base must appoint a CH-REP to distribute products within the country. This acquisition enables Healthcare Holding Schweiz to offer comprehensive services, covering import, distribution, and full regulatory compliance.
Fabio Fagagnini, Chief Executive of Healthcare Holding Schweiz, welcomed the development, saying: “With Effectum CH-Rep, we are broadening our service offering and strengthening our growing group. This ensures our sales representatives and managing directors can focus on delivering innovative products and excellent customer service, while we take care of all regulatory requirements.”
Kim Züger, Head of Quality Management & Regulatory Affairs and now Director of Effectum CH-Rep, underlined the company’s commitment to compliance. “Regulatory compliance is our top priority. Effectum CH-Rep will provide this service not only for Healthcare Holding Schweiz suppliers but also for a wide range of manufacturers. This demonstrates our high standards and professionalism.”
Michael Eggimann, Board Member of Effectum Medical AG and responsible for the sale, expressed confidence in the transition. “We have worked closely with Fabio Fagagnini and his team for many years and are certain that Effectum CH-Rep is in excellent hands. This move allows us to focus on developing our Legal Manufacturing services and expanding our plug-and-play quality management system. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Effectum CH-Rep for the benefit of our customers.”
The acquisition positions Healthcare Holding Schweiz AG as a key player in regulatory compliance for medical technology firms, ensuring that manufacturers can meet Swiss legal requirements while focusing on innovation and growth.
