Midlands law firm mfg Solicitors has officially welcomed its latest cohort of trainee solicitors, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both the firm and its new recruits. The firm, known for its commitment to nurturing legal talent, has added five trainees to its team, all starting their two-year training contracts on September 2.
The new trainees—Oscar McCracken, Emily Flory, Katie Johnson, Emily Stancer, and Lauren Collins—will gain experience across four different departments within the firm until 2026. This initiative aims to equip them with a comprehensive understanding of various legal practices and enhance their skill sets as they embark on their careers in law.
The arrival of this cohort follows the progress of last year’s trainees: Molly Wall, Florence Fisher, Lucy Palmer, Sufyaan Aslim, and Rachel Pick, who are now entering the final year of their training programme. This transition underscores the firm’s commitment to developing young legal professionals.
Tom Esler, a partner at mfg Solicitors and the board member responsible for overseeing the trainee programme, expressed his enthusiasm for the new recruits. “This year we’re welcoming another focused and talented group of trainees into the firm,” he said. “The training programme is already providing them with invaluable opportunities to work across various departments, giving them hands-on experience while working closely with our partners and clients every day. Individually and as a group, they’re already making a great impression.”
Esler also highlighted the achievements of the previous cohort, commending their passion and dedication during their first year. “We’re pleased to see last year’s trainees progressing into their second year after a successful 12 months,” he added. “Their enthusiasm and hard work have been commendable.”
In addition to welcoming the new trainees, mfg Solicitors celebrated the achievements of Lucy Allen and Reuben Grimshaw, who have successfully completed the trainee programme and are now newly qualified solicitors at the firm. Their transition into qualified roles is significant for mfg Solicitors, which continues to grow and expand its client base.
As part of the trainee programme, participants work closely with experienced lawyers, allowing them to develop essential technical and communication skills. The programme also provides opportunities for trainees to engage directly with clients and to network within both the firm and the wider community.
mfg Solicitors has a strong presence across the Midlands, with offices located in Birmingham, Kidderminster, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Ludlow, and Telford. The firm’s commitment to fostering new talent aligns with its growth strategy as it wins more business and continues to support a diverse range of clients.
As mfg Solicitors embraces this new cohort of trainees, the firm reinforces its dedication to cultivating the next generation of legal professionals, ensuring a bright future for both the trainees and the firm itself. With a focus on development and community engagement, mfg Solicitors is poised for continued success in the legal landscape of the Midlands.
